In October 2017, FOUNDATION57 introduced the iPapa57 Feeding and Fundraising Programme in Mossel Bay, South Africa.

This initiative supplies specialised maize products to support the daily nutritional needs of children at Early Childhood Development play schools in the region. iPapa57 partners with registered NGOs and ECD institutions to implement this feeding program. Their maize products are scientifically developed, organic micronutrient formulations designed to address micronutrient deficiencies and promote physical and mental growth in children.

In addition to the daily feeding programme at ECD play schools, iPapa57 is also financing food parcels distributed monthly to child headed families, a soup kitchen in Albertinia in the Southern Cape as well as a food project at a local Mossel Bay High School , providing food parcels to the families of needy children during holidays.

To help our iPAPA57 children, please consider making a donation.
Your contribution will allow us to aid more children in need.

PROGRAMME RATIONALE

“If children are given strong learning foundations in the early years, they are far more likely to enjoy a path of lifelong learning. Early childhood development sets the foundation for later learning. It is therefore really important to support and encourage a child’s development in the first 5 years of life. Research shows that communities who give children access to quality early childhood development are usually more stable and successful.”
– SmartStart Programme

The basic needs (building blocks) of ECD programmes are:
• Love and Care
• Nutrition (iPapa57 focus area) and Good Health
• Safety: Physical and Emotional
• Stimulation: Learning Opportunities

FEEDING PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES

SUSTAINABILITY

FOUNDATION57 (iPapa57) Feeding Programme is structured to reduce long-term dependence and create self-sustainability and empowerment.
Community participation, co-operation and partnerships with SmartStart and relevant NGO’s who can contribute and ensure the successful implementation and evaluation of the feeding programme.
Sourcing and expanding our donor base: donors who are keen and passionate to invest in the nutritional needs of poor and needy children at ECD centres in order to increase the positive impact and expansion of the iPapa57 Programme.

“A huge thank you to FOUNDATION57 for financing the provision of the maize products for the past two years at our creche. The nutritional food has cured many skin conditions such as eczema, the kids are energised and we can clearly see that there is progress with brain and educational development, as well as the fight against malnutrition”.
